چکیده

The CO2 emission is more than 36 billion tons per year in global scale. As carbon dioxide raises temperature by trapping solar energy the atmosphere, research ongoing to facilitate capture of with high efficiency. While footprint Bangladesh relatively low, upcoming coal-based power plants (>17000 MW) next decade, fossil will increase significantly. To understand underlying benefit process, cradle-to-gate life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) using sources (e.g. natural gas, coal) can provide an in-depth insight. This paper aims conduct on gas and coal (sub critical supercritical) fired without facility for comparison overall environment. An open source software titled OpenLCA was used carry out LCIA study different parameters (i.e. green-house emission, toxicity ozone layer depletion). It found that from super-critical pulverized (SCPC) sub-critical (Sub-PC) could be brought down 80% facility. Along capture, it equally important ensure proper sinks this captured CO2. has no dedicated geological reservoir storage, potential sink immediate utilization after capture. also presents preliminary results utilizing through mineralization during preparation alternative admixture construction materials. Due ever-growing real-estate sector Bangladesh, there great capturing activities.

Cost and performance of fossil fuel power plants with CO2 capture and storage

CO2 capture and storage (CCS) is receiving considerable attention as a potential greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation option for fossil fuel power plants. Cost and performance estimates for CCS are critical factors in energy and policy analysis. CCS cost studies necessarily employ a host of technical and economic assumptions that can dramatically affect results. Thus, particular studies often are of...

Understanding the Cost of Co2 Capture and Storage for Fossil Fuel Power Plants

As part of the USDOE’s Carbon Sequestration Program, we have developed an integrated modeling framework to evaluate the performance and costs of alternative CO2 capture and storage technologies for fossil-fueled power plants, in the context of multi-pollutant control requirements. This model (called the IECM-CS) allows for explicit characterization of the uncertainty or variability in any or al...

Environomic optimal design of power plants with CO2 capture

Life cycle impact assessment indicators are integrated for studying the process integration of renewable resources and CO2 capture and storage (CCS) in power plants. Besides the expected reduction in global warming potential (GWP), CCS induces energy and cost penalties. This paper presents a systematicmultiobjective optimisation framework for the optimal design of power plants with CO2 capture ...

Sensitivity analysis of parameters affecting carbon footprint of fossil fuel power plants based on life cycle assessment scenarios

In this study a pseudo comprehensive carbon footprint model for fossil fuel power plants is presented. Parameters which their effects are considered in this study include: plant type, fuel type, fuel transmission type, internal consumption of the plant, degradation, site ambient condition, transmission and distribution losses. Investigating internal consumption, degradation and site ambient con...

A Multi-Pollutant Framework for Evaluating CO2 Control Options for Fossil Fuel Power Plants

As part of DOE/NETL’s Carbon Sequestration Program, we are developing an integrated, multi-pollutant modeling framework to evaluate the costs and performance of alternative carbon capture and sequestration technologies for fossil-fueled power plants. The model calculates emissions, costs, and efficiency on a systematic basis at the level of an individual plant or facility. Both new and existing...
